I've been seeing quite a few TV commercials about a telomere test to get your "real" age.

Re: "eat real food. mostly plants. not too much."

My philosophy:
It might not work for others, but it works for me.

I eat real food.
Organic.
Very little processed.
No artificial ingredients.
No sodas, pizza or breaded & fried crap.
I only eat when I'm hungry.
I stop eating when I’m full.

Re: What is a Fasting Mimicking Diet and How to Do It

Weight gain seems to be elevated if you eat after 7pm and you then retire without the suggested 3 hour digestion time. I personally aim for nothing but water after 6pm using the 16 hour fast, 8 hour eat schedule. Results are also governed by how many calories you squeeze into that 8 hour eating win...

Re: What is a Fasting Mimicking Diet and How to Do It

The second way you mentioned called Time-restricted feeding (TRF), in which daily food consumption restricted to 4-12 hour. But be careful, it is only effective when your "feeding window" is in the morning or early afternoon. If you feeding time is at the end of the day, it is not benefic...

Re: Age-related hair loss and vitamin E

I haven’t tried tocotrienols, but I take 400 iu of mixed tocopherol Vitamin E daily. At my age (almost 70), my hair is thinner than it use to be. I started adding 10,000 iu of Biotin daily, a couple of years ago and my hair started coming back. It’s still thinner than 10 years ago, but it’s not as t...

Re: Why do you take NMN?

I will be 70 in less than 3 weeks. I live at 5100 ft altitude. I've been taking NMN for a couple of years. I took Niagen for a couple of years before that. My income is very limited, so when I cannot afford NMN, I switch back to cheaper Niagen. I have way more energy than others my age. I would like...

Re: What is a Fasting Mimicking Diet and How to Do It

Some people have success with a 5/2 diet. They eat their normal diet 5 days a week and fast 2 non-consecutive days a week. This disrupts the body from getting in the habit of packing on excess calories. Others do something similar in which they allow themselves to consume carbs 4-5 days per week and...

Re: Hyperinsulinemia, insulin resistance and diabetes 2: silent killers that make you fat and sick

I'm older...will be 70 in a few weeks. Everyone I know who is my age is diabetic or pre-diabetic. Luckily, my blood tests still come back with blood glucose of 85 and A1C of 4.9. I attribute it to my lifestyle being so different from them. They seem to be constantly eating. Some of them even get anx...
