Re: NEW (10 sep) Two hour in-depth interview with professor David Sinclair on treating aging, NMN and cellular reprogram
There is a more informative/technical interview with David Sinclair by Peter Attia https://peterattiamd.com/davidsinclair2/ SIR genes and cellular identity [8:45]; Sirtuins regulate gene expression [14:30]; DNA is methylated at the deepest layer of the epigenome [17:45]; Methylation pattern and dete...

Re: David Sinclair's New Book is OUT!!!
Even better than the Joe Rogan podcast which is pretty high level, check out The Peter Attia Drive podcast #70 which does a much more deep dive into the methylation clock, the reprograming of cells back to more youthful methylation profiles and of course NAD's role in longevity. For those who want a...

Re: Super aging mostly fraudulent? Time to re-evaluate "longevity diet"?
There was an interesting account of the twin astronauts, one who was on the space station for a year, and one that remained on earth. They found that the astronaut in space had significantly lengthened telomers upon return compared to his earth bound brother. BUT after a short time his telomers shru...

Re: Besides Dr. Sinclair - who else is leading the charge with anti-aging molecules?
There are multitudes of other researchers looking at NAD+ elevation and its effects on aging. Below is just one recent review article written by authors from the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine entitled: NAD and the Aging Process: Role in Life, Death and Everything in Between https://www.ncbi.nlm.ni...

Re: How Genome Sequencing and Senolytics Can Help Us Live Healthier, Longer
I think the general link between NAD+ increase through NMN precursors is that with higher NAD+ levels at the cellular level, the incidence of senescent cells will be less because the cells are functionally "younger" in their operation since NAD+ is such a fundamental chemical for many cell...

Re: Why do you take NMN?
I started taking NR about 5 years ago after meeting David Sinclair and listening to him explain his research results. At that time, NMN was not commercially available (or if it was it was $1000+ per bottle) but switched over to NMN once AlivebyNature made the switch. I would say that the reason I am...

Another approach, also pioneered by Longo is the Fasting Mimicing Diet (FMD). His research found that following a diet for 5 days that basically consists of 809 calories/day with Fat 46%, Carbohydrates 46% and Protein 9% produced significant upregulation of REgeneration markers. https://www.ncbi.nlm...

Re: Anyone is taking rapamycin or metformin?
In Thailand you can buy Metformin over the counter, no questions asked. You can also buy a lot of other prescription drugs including antibiotics which some Thais pop like aspirin whenever they don't feel well leading to antibiotic resistance.

Re: NMN is apparently good for the liver
Here is some additional research on how NAD+ supplementation is good for the liver, specifically fatty liver disease. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28254760 In this paper they describe a supplementation regiment that consists of NR (before the days of NMN being readily available) to up regulat...
