Re: Broccoli Sprouts and Sulforaphane
Sulforaphane inhibits mitochondrial fission. As I understand it both mitochondrial fission and fusion are important for good health and longevity. However mitochondrial fusion is downgraded in aging individuals.

Re: Broccoli Sprouts and Sulforaphane
an inhibitor of the enzymatic activity of sirtuins is nicotinamide. Does NAM inhibit Sirt1? This paper argues that while it is an inhibitor invitro this imay not be the case invivo. "once administered to cells, NAM is rapidly converted to NAD+ and, therefore, the cellular concentration of NAM ...

Re: The AMPK Sirt1 Cycle
"AMPK can activate SIRT1 by increasing the NAD/NADH ratio or the expression/activity of NAMPT "
AMPK by itself will increase NAD+ levels. I wonder how much more? As much as a NAD+ precursor? Enough to reach a more youthful level?

Re: Sirtuins Are Evolutionarily Conserved Viral Restriction Factors
Are they're supplements available that activate all the sirtuins? Personally I'd like to employ all the help I can against cov-19.

The AMPK Sirt1 Cycle
The takeaway: AMPK activates sirt1 and vice versa. Therefore if you take a supplement to activate one you are also indirectly activating the other. That's 2 for the price of one. Jiaogulan is one of the better researched AMPK activators and EVOO a powerfull activator of sirt1. Sirtuins are a group o...

Re: Mayo Clinic Human Trial using Fisetin
The mayo protocol calls for 20mg per kg of fisetin over 2 days followed by the same dosage 1 month later. I'm wondering how long it takes for senescent cells to increase in numbers to where they need to be knocked out once again.

As we age the amount of taurine produced by the body declimes.

Taurine Activates Sirt1 and increases NAD+/NADH Ratio
Less expensive than both resveritrol and olive oil (and easier on the stomach). Not sure on the comparative effectiveness though. "Meanwhile, taurine increased NAD+/NADH ratio, promoted the expression of SIRT1 and suppressed p53 acetylation." https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32017914-taurine...
