Re: Prof. George Church on Cellular Reprogramming and Longevity

ome things are beyond epigenetic repair, such as when all copies of a particular necessary gene, like a tumor suppressor, have been completely wiped away over time.   Since epigenetic repair isn't available as an off-the-shelf product right now, perhaps it makes sense to conserve (freeze?) our gene...

Do you have a link to that?  I know Bezos has invested in Altos Labs but I can't find anything that says he's invested in Metro Biotech.

Amazon to stop selling NMN

Food and supplements news site NutraIngredients is reporting that Amazon is telling sellers they must soon stop selling NMN and products containing NMN.  https://www.nutraingredients-usa.com/Article/2023/02/16/Amazon-removing-NMN-dietary-supplements-citing-FDA-actions Amazon is telling sellers that ...

Re: Tips for First Mayo Clinic Cycle

I took 3 Renue lipo fisetin capsules each of the 1st 3 days of the month for 5 months.  I am a 160lb male.   I did not feel any different on those days or immediately thereafter. It seems an open question as to how often people might want do the fisetin protocol...yearly?  every few years?  Thoughts...

Re: Is liposomal worth it? or just take the cheaper version with fat?

We have very current research showing lipo berberine has 628% of the bioavailability of non-lipo berberine. I won't write out all the math, but basically Renue's lipo berberine is about 10% more expensive per gram of bioavailability vs. Nutricost's non-lipo berberine bought on Amazon (exclusive of s...

Re: Is liposomal worth it? or just take the cheaper version with fat?

This is not impressive. They appeared to have shown that unit per unit, a liposomal formulation of a vitamin is going to result in higher bioavailability than a "standard" (non-liposomal) formulation. No surprise; we expect that to be true. What they didn't show was what would have happene...

Re: Major breakthrough in aging

Here's an article in Science magazine about the Harvard study and also a forthcoming paper on related work by Rejuvenate Bio in San Diego. https://www.science.org/content/article/two-research-teams-reverse-signs-aging-mice It quotes some scientists who offer a degree of skepticism about whether age ...

Major breakthrough in aging

"An international study 13 years in the making demonstrates for the first time that degradation in the way DNA is organized and regulated — known as epigenetics — can drive aging in an organism, independently of changes to the genetic code itself. The work shows that a breakdown in epigenetic in...

Re: Berberine and Metformin

I have read a couple of studies on Berberine where a small number of patients withdrew because they developed rashes.  So skin issues appear to be relatively rare but not altogether unusual. You might want to try treating the itchiness with fexofenadine (Allegra) before giving up completely on the B...

Re: NR and Brain Cancer

Seems the University of Missouri backtracked on its headline but the Council for Responsible Nutrition is charging they haven't done enough, saying “the original press release headline falsely linked NR with cancer and the updated version does the bare minimum to rectify the false claims.” Read more...
