Re: X-rays. How to avoid them.
It depends on the type of x-ray for sure. Every day just sitting on planet Earth you get about .008msv radiation Getting one full set of standard digital dental xrays only gives you the equivalent of 2 additional days worth of background radiation. Not too bad. It is the CT scans of the body that ...

Re: New Research on Aging and COVID-19
I’m trying to find the study, but there was one recently that showed for younger people, being obese and/or smoking resulted in far greater deaths from COVID-19 than for people of the same age that were not obese and/or didn’t smoke. But for those 80+, the death rate was exactly the same for those w...

Re: Natural mTOR-inhibitors for the longevity ?.
I put in a pre-order for that and am eagerly awaiting when they're able to ship out the first batch. AKG seems like a good baby step into the mtor world considering the complications and cost around trying rapamycin. AKG is not a direct mtor inhibitor in the way that rapamycin is, but it does indi...

Re: Caution for taking high amounts of NR if there is low levels of NAD+
It seems like they're talking about massive amounts of NR here, as far as I can tell Well over 5 grams, maybe closer to 10 grams really. Definitely good to keep in mind for anyone thinking "more is always better". Here is very specific evidence that it's not.

Re: Interview with fisetin/Mayo lead scientist James Kirkland
Absolutely, I've done the hit and run fisetin dosing from the trial about 5 times myself, no obvious ill effects to speak of. I think the theoretical concern I've heard some wonder about is that since killing off senescent cells requires stem cells to jump in and replicate to replace them, is it pos...

Re: It is never too late to try.
I love hearing stories like this, thank you for sharing. I really wish there could be a large trial of people 70+ or 80+ following before and after NMN. I think it would encourage more people to try this. I have not yet been able to convince my 75-ish parents to give it a try.

Very interesting stuff and definitely a strong argument for the value of senolytics.

Eliminating senescent cells may be harmful?
I keep seeing speculation that eliminating senescent cells may be harmful because they must be replaced by stem cells dividing, which in theory shortens telomeres, and then ultimately causes earlier stem cell exhaustion than otherwise would have happened. So far there are no long term studies provin...

Re: Testosterone
This 100% tracks with my experience. I wish I had done labs to confirm, but given the various improvements I’ve seen from nmn, many have been the types one would expect from more youthful levels of testosterone.

CA-AKG (new ABS product)
Anyone thinking of trying the new lipo CA-AKG? I've been curious about CA-AKG for awhile but couldn't find a good source for it so I'm psyched that ABS is making it. There's been some great research around CA-AKG that it seems to work in a similar way to rapamycin and at least in one study, took 8 y...
