https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3207607 ... -activity/Here, we mined the data and performed a deep in silico analysis to identify drugs highly likely to induce cardiac regeneration. Fisetin was identified as the top candidate. We validated its effects in an in vitro model of MI/IRI in mammalian cardiac cells. Fisetin enhances viability of rat cardiomyocytes following hypoxia/starvation - reoxygenation. It inhibits apoptosis, decreases ROS generation and caspase activation and protects from DNA damage. Interestingly, fisetin also activates genes involved in cell proliferation. Fisetin is thus a highly promising candidate drug with clinical potential to protect from ischemic damage following MI and to overcome IRI.

Re: Fisetin Protects Against Cardiac Cell Death
Good to see our buddy fisetin having other positive effects beyond clearing senescent cells.
Am I reading this correctly that they’re looking at the effect of fisetin immediately after ischemic event and in the following? It’s preventing damage rather than reversing it?

Thanks for the post AlbertY. Very interesting indeed.

I guess this is better as a preventative but it can also regenerate.
This is the strongest Senolytic, yes?

I think it's very high up on the list, canadahealthy i give it to my mom (NAD+ booster) along with Blue Berry extract, which is a major source of Fisetin.canadahealthy wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2020 6:17 pm I guess this is better as a preventative but it can also regenerate.

I think it is one of the strongest. Eventually the results of the trials on elderly frailty will be out.
They do High doses 2 days followed by 28 days no fisetin.
Not sure how that will compare to daily fisetin.

Re: Fisetin Protects Against Cardiac Cell Death
Very interested to see those results. I’ve done the 2 day high dose protocol 3 times now. No obvious effects but I wouldn’t expect to see much as I’m on the “younger” (relatively speaking) end of things.
