I think they are investigating OA for its affect on telomeres.

And in general Olive Oil and it's effects.

Not there yet, but it is on the radar as having many benefits.

It looks like Green Tea can be added as well.

First in a study of decaffeinated green tas among obese women:

also a 12 week study of heart tissue in rats:

and Chinese Tea with elderly chinese men:

Well this is huge!

We can certainly add alcohol and smoking to the anti-telomere list, but this is an extremely important list. I am glad to report I am doing everything on this list, except taking Astragalus, which i have just ordered.

NMN add to our life span in a different way, although I am certain research will eventually show it lengthens telomeres as well.

This is the recipe we want.

the fact that with this list, there are 8 things we can do to add length (and quality) to our years is pretty remarkable.

I of course knew about the protective effects of Vitamin D years and years ago, and we've all heard about anti-oxidants, but it is amazing just how specific we can get about life-extension.

Nothing wrong with growing this list and for finding better ways to get some of these things into our system.

I look forward to more specifics about senolytics, especially Fisetin and Oleic acid.

Progress is a good feeling. It is nice to know we can make progress toward a healthier, longer life every day.

I remember reading somewhere in a scientific paper that daily low dose aspirin was associated with longevity but doctors opinions seem to be divided on the benefits and the possible risks from internal bleeding..

there may be a third category to add to this list...

we could call it telomere protective or telomerase protective.

For example, the drug known in North America as Lipitor or Atorvastatin (yes, a statin) has been shown to protect the telomeres.

here is the study I was reading: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5043056/

But i also recall last year that statins are known to extend life. I had forgotten it, but the stumbling block for me was IF OUR CHOLESTEROL or triglyceride levels were good, was it safe to continue to take statins?

That is what prompted me to consider natural statins.

My guess though is, that even with a fairly protective diet, unless you are fasting, you may have high cholesterol or triglycerides.

Astragalus:

So in the article you posted they found that Centella asiatica had a 9x more powerful effect on telomerase than astragalus.
Interesting how we keep finding beneficial research for natural substances that were used in Eastern Medicine thousands of years ago.

Holy smokes!
How many times have I read that article and missed that? Or maybe I couldn't find a related product.

At any rate, the market version of Centella Asiatica is Gotu Kola.

Definitely on the list!

Further reading in the same article confirmed that Oleanolic or Oleanic Acid which is found in Olive oil, is pro-telomere, So Olive Oil can be placed on this list.

Pro-Telomere                                                                       Anti-Telomere

Astragalus                                                                            Processed foods

Aerobic Exercise

Gotu Kola (Centella Asiatica)

Green / Chinese Tea

Fasting

Melatonin

Olive Oil

Resveratrol

Vitamin D3

I can see a big rolllout of life extenders coming out of this forum, via ABS.

I noticed this as well, so doing some further research, I did see warnings that prolonged use can be toxic for the liver.
The suggestion was to take a month off from taking it after 3 months. The flip side I also noticed was that the Astragalus appears to have healing effects on the liver as well as boosting the telomerase.
I'm no expert, but to be on the safe side, I think I'd alternate 1 month on each.
