NMN Improves Obesity, Inflammation, Glucose & Lipids in Obese Mice
A study has been conducted that investigated the effects of Nicotinamide Mononucleotide (NMN) on obesity, inflammation, glucose, and lipid levels in obese mice. The findings of the study suggest that NMN could have significant implications for the treatment of obesity-related metabolic disorders in humans.
The study was carried out on obese mice that were fed a high-fat diet for eight weeks. The mice were then divided into two groups, with one group receiving NMN supplements and the other receiving a placebo. The researchers monitored the mice for an additional eight weeks to observe any changes in their weight gain, glucose and lipid metabolism, and inflammation levels.
The results showed that the mice that were given NMN had a reduced weight gain compared to the placebo group. Additionally, the mice that received NMN supplements exhibited improved glucose and lipid metabolism, with lower levels of blood glucose and insulin, and improved insulin sensitivity. Moreover, the study found that the NMN supplements reduced inflammation in the mice, which is a common complication associated with obesity.

Great article and thanks for posting. I will be doing a presentation on NAD and the importance of its precursors. There is some good information in that article again thanks for posting.

Just wondering why the control group mice needed to take a placebo. Did they know a test was being conducted and that other mice were getting NMN? Maybe their feelings would be hurt if they were left out of getting a shot or parcel of food?

That's what I ended up thinking too. So the researchers didn't know. Just a guess.

I like these kinds of studies. It suggests we don't always have to be so rigid about exercise and food choices. NMN works as kind of an 'undo' button.RenueSupport wrote: ↑Tue Mar 21, 2023 12:08 pm A study has been conducted that investigated the effects of Nicotinamide Mononucleotide (NMN) on obesity, inflammation, glucose, and lipid levels in obese mice. We are lucky to be living in such times where we can also rely on supplements such as NMN or NAD to better our health. Just years ago people didnt have this opportunity.
