lots of health issues over the past 4 years, including poor memory, cognitive issues -  potentially cfs? With some  still as yet unknown food allergies - potentially?  and severe rls.

im also on suboxone after getting addicted to opiates when I had stage 4 cancer in 2013.

I gave up waiting for the docs, I have 3 specialists - no 4 plus 2 gps and none of them have given me anything even remotely  useful or helpful in the last 4 years, so I went down the supplements/ longevity route which has changed my life, for the better obviously and now I’m even going to the gym. The most effective supplement for me was tmg, although lately it’s been giving me really bad anxiety and confusion.

anyway I finally could afford some Nmn from do not age ( I wish I knew about renue  by science at the time)   and  I’ve tried it twice with poor results both times, I took what I suspect is a gram, 1 scoop  under the tongue, I felt energetic almost straight away, like I’d had a really strong coffee but after a few hours I started to feel spaced out,  moody and less energetic than I usually would without Nmn, I took some lions mane mushroom after about an hour of that cuz that usually puts me in a good mood, gives me energy & clarity, but this time it made me feel even worse than I did just from the Nmn, the rest of the day I also felt terrible too.

So next day I try it again, cuz I had trouble sleeping the night before I figure that’s why It didn’t work, I only had 2/3 hours sleep cuz the creatine I took gave me bad insomnia, I struggle to get more than 5 hours sleep even with medication cuz of rls anyway so I figured it couldn’t of been the Nmn, I’d read so many positive testimonials so  I refused to accept it  and took it again, same thing happened, initial jolt of energy and then felt crap, low energy, extremely poor mood the next day, so now I’m thinking maybe it is the Nmn, next day I go without and I felt my usual upbeat self with sufficient energy, maybe a bit less than normal cuz I hadn’t slept all week.

anywsy just trying to get some answers as to why this is happening? I took like 1/4 of a scoop before with about half a tmg capsule and 50 minutes later I don’t feel too bad, my head feels a bit weird, like I’m wired and have been on amphetamines for a few days, but as is the case whenever the tmg has worked, my mood is pretty good.

so yeah sorry for the long rambly post, but I can’t find any answers for this. All the testimonies I read are positive, so not sure who to ask or where to find answers, I really don’t want to waste a whole tub of Nmn at this point, so I’d really like to keep trying.

A tough time Anzac.
Firstly you are taking a cocktail of Supplements and Prescription Meds that can sometimes confuse any positive outcomes.
In some cases the purity and strength of NMN can be questionable that’s why most of us on the forum use RenueByScience products.
Secondly, in my humble opinion too much NMN to soon. It is normal practice to build up quantities over a period of some weeks eg….
250mg daily first week
500mg daily second week
750mg daily third week
1000mg daily fourth week
and max out with 1000mg daily if everything is going ok..
Also remember most of us old stagers on the forum take 1 to 2 days off a week. I personally take weekends off all supplements.
Wellness and longevity is a slow and steady process and definitely not a sprint.
See how you go and please give us feedback..

Anzac,
You're getting a little advice from "The Old Man" of the Forum , with my next mark at 83. NMN is NOT a feel good, fast response , get well pill.
It's a Supplement already in your body, just being replenished to earlier, higher levels. Your body's natural immune, restoring ability then does the work. If you'd like to know how, go to the Subject Page, select NMN and review those posts. I have a few there too.

Welcome Anzac,

I echo Newage, way too much NMN too soon. You need to build up slowly to get to YOUR sweet spot. I had a few a few vertigo episodes in the first few weeks, interestingly an area I have issues. I persisted and it just continued to get better, my lesson learnt was I should have gone slower for my body to adjust.

Be careful of supplement timing, most people take NMN /TMG in the morning to not disrupt sleep, I personally taking 70% in the morning and 30% in the afternoon of my daily (6 times a week), works well for me :D

Forgetting all the supplements though, sleep is your super power if you have not already my advice would be to check out that TED talk and Dr Matthew Walker to understand then implement best practices on sleep.

Good advice Boxcost especially the part about sleep being the “be all end all”
All the supplements in the World will not make up for sleep deprivation.
Top the night off with RenueByScience Restore PM and you are well on the way to a night of quality sleep 💤
