NmN with NAD??

Post by Aturner86 »

Can you take NmN with NAD, or does NmN do the trick?

NAD+ crosses the blood/brain barrier easier, so is more for the brain. NMN is great for the body. They work well taken together.

I second that, NMN and NAD+ work better together. NMN is better for skeletal muscles and NAD+ for the brain.

Yes, the use of both is beneficial. Since NMN is a intermediate in NAD+ biosynthesis it is logical to assume that increasing NMN would increase NAD+. In fact a study published in Cell Metabolism (2016) fed mice NMN for 12 months and showed that the NMN mice were more active and had improved oxidative metabolism without overt side effects. A common set of NMN response genes were not detected during this study between different tissues. This suggests that the response to enhanced NAD+ Metabolism is tissue specific.
