So NAC is the antidote for Acetominophen overdose...

what exactly does NAC really do?

N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) is a supplement form of cysteine. So you can get it in foods, most protein-rich foods, such as chicken, turkey, yogurt, cheese, eggs, sunflower seeds, flax seeds and legumes contain cysteine.

What does it do, a few notable things but for me NAC can relieve respiratory conditions by acting as an antioxidant and expectorant, loosening mucus in our air passageways. So as a 20 year smoker it was a bonus that it included in the NAD Energizer from ABS (sadly discontinued) that I am (or soon to be "was") supplementing with the NAD Energizer. I do feel my lungs are clearer.

NAC is also the key per-cursor to glutathione which can boost the immune system https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11115795/ . ABS are producing it directly now as a LIPO powder so may be the way to go? that is just bypass NAC: https://alivebyscience.com/product/lipo ... -capsules/

I am doing a 24 hour fast..

i think it is pointless to take half of these things on an empty stomach?

right?

For a 24 hour fast, absolutely right, don't take any supplements.
For something longer (3-5 days) you probably want to have a bit of magnesium and a bit of salt if you feel cramping coming on, but again nothing else.

I did not supplement with anything until 2015, I had been determined since 2004 (and still am) to get all the nutrients I needed from my diet. In 2015 I started to realise that it was actually next to impossible, seeing low vitamin D in my blood work after thinking I was getting enough sun and food got me slowly going on the supplementation journey. So now for me its a list of things "I just can't get in my diet" or are impossible based on the rate of decline across multiple systems in my body.

My current "supplement" (you could classify some as food) list across my journey is as follows...

2015
Vitamin D - Started at 1000iu 5-6 days, now at 4000iu 6 days in winter, 3000iu in summer - awaiting my next blood work results...

2019
Brocolli Sprout Powder (Sulforophane) - 1.5G  6 Days (a tip if you start, do it with 500mg, give the gut some time to get used to it)
NMN - 850mg 6 days a week, I started on 500mg 7 days a week
NAD+ - 150mg 6 days a week
Resveratrol - 70mg 6 days a week (started on 500mg)
Hydrolized Collagen - 28G 6 days a week
Vitamin K2-MK7 - 0.2mg

2020
Pterostilbene - 250mg 5 days a week
Multi-vitamin - 3 times a week (the catch all)
Fish Oil - EPA 1.3G and DHA 1G 6 Days a week
Hyaluronic Acid - 300mg 5 days a week
NAD Energizer - 1 x capsule 500mg Taurine, 300g NAC, Astaxathin, etc (this will run soon, will see how I feel after and re-evaluate)

2021
Ashwagandha (KSM-66) - 300mg 6 days a week
Melatonin - .3mg 6 days a week
TMG - 1G 6 days a week
Dried Parsley - 28G 6 days a week
