Taurine Activates Sirt1 and increases NAD+/NADH Ratio

Post by p75213 »

Less expensive than both resveritrol and olive oil (and easier on the stomach). Not sure on the comparative effectiveness though.
"Meanwhile, taurine increased NAD+/NADH ratio, promoted the expression of SIRT1 and suppressed p53 acetylation."

NaHS is precursor to H2S which activate NAMPT. A lot of people are using Taurine as a replacement for NaHS (probably accounts for the increased NAD+/NADH ratio).

It looks like our bodies manufacture Taurine in large quantities. The Wiki says it accounts for 0.1% of our total body weight. I think this is one Senolytic you don't need to buy.

As we age the amount of taurine produced by the body declimes.
