Telomeres; let's make a master list

Ok i know that even if NMN doesn't directly lengthen our telomeres, it extends our life in many other ways.. but if it indeed does protect our telomeres, let's get it on the Master Telomere List.

I know that Astralagus can lengthen our telomeres. I have also read research that supplemental melatonin also does this.

And of course fasting.

Does Rapamycin? (I haven't read it does, but i have read it does tend to extent life)

I would like us to make and agree of this list. I have read the research for Astralagus and Melatonin and will post it here.

Good idea, NewLifeScience!  :)

I'm not sure if this article will belong in this thread, but it talks about telomeres and what NOT to eat if you want to keep your telomeres healthy:

Coles notes:  Ultra processed foods eaten regularly are bad for telomeres!

I am going to do some more research, but it appears that the Omega-3 fatty acid protects telomeres from shortening...

I may edit this later to quote research where it actually can lengthen telomeres.

Here is the study showing it  protecting telomere length.

There are 2 studies showing how vitamin D3 works positively on telomere length, one across both genders and one with women only.

Very promising:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3826782/
The major finding of the present study is that vitamin D3 supplementation significantly increased PBMC telomerase activity by 19.2% during the time course of 16-week intervention. Our data suggest that vitamin D may improve telomere maintenance and prevent cell senescence.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2196219/
Our findings suggest that higher vitamin D concentrations, which are easily modifiable through nutritional supplementation, are associated with longer LTL, which underscores the potentially beneficial effects of this hormone on aging and age-related diseases.
I think you can add Vitamin D3 to the list :)

I recalled that cardiovascular exercise, in the aerobic range has a positive correlation with telomere length.

So get your heart rate up to the aerobic level and you can make a difference.

We can't add Omega-3 yet... but i will  keep looking...

Pretty cool, let me do some research as I have read in the past about a certain peptide that extends telomeres.

It looks like we can add Resveratrol to this list. I will try to find more sources...

Whoa! This is good stuff.

I don't think it is all about telomeres. But it is definitely a big part. We have to look after them, so this is an extremely important list.

Oleic acid seems to shorten telomeres for cancer cells.

Not sure what it does with regular cells.

Hella good substance wither way.
