Fasting ⇒ Time-restricted feeding did NOT work in human
Time-restricted feeding did NOT work in human
I'm very upset when I saw this paper this morning. https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamain ... ct/2771095
It is a randomized clinical trial that included 116 adults with overweight or obesity, time-restricted eating was associated with a modest decrease (1.17%) in weight that was not significantly different from the decrease in the control group (0.75%).
Meaning: Time-restricted eating did not confer weight loss or cardiometabolic benefits in this study.

Well it may not help with weight loss. but it is still a healthy practise to perform fasting mimicking.
I fast 5 days a week, and i didn't lose an ounce until i started running.

This study had a major flaw, and it is right there in latin: ad lib·i·tum
/ˌad ˈlibədəm/
adverb
In other words, they could even binge if they wanted.
I am not surprised at the outcome.

Re: Time-restricted feeding did NOT work in human
There's a lot of buzz right on intermittent fasting, its everywhere and its possible that the article could be disinformation. Im not saying it is but there's a possibility that it is because we all know fasting is good for us.
Re: Time-restricted feeding did NOT work in human
There's no need to diss the reliability of the source.
The rules of this study were ridiculous
Take a look at what the participants could do during 'eating times'.
It's not a reasonable way to manage calorie intake.

Re: Time-restricted feeding did NOT work in human
We know intermittent fasting is good for us and genetically we are engineered to miss meals
(if you don’t catch, gather or grow your food you go hungry) but also the quality of the food intake in the none fasting period has to taken into account. You can’t load up with chips and ice cream and expect positive results..
