Just to underline what I have learned.
The shingles my Dad had started on a spot on his back, but he never complained about pain, so i never put any serum there. now long after the part I applied serum to has resolved, he said it is irritating his back.
That is pretty conclusive.
And, yes, lots of serum on his back now.
