NMN ⇒ Pulse or Cycle NMN etc
Pulse or Cycle NMN etc
Waiting for my NMN, Resveratrol and TMG supplements to arrive, so still planning my approach.
Is there any benefit (other than obvious cost saving) to pulsing/cycling these supplements? I ask because Dr David Sinclair seemed to support pulsing pretty generally as an approach to diet and exercise in a podcast I listened to, and so I wondered whether this approach (say, a day off per week, or week off after several weeks on) has any merit.
This is pretty much what I do with my exercise (3 weeks of progressive increases followed by a week of reduced volume; repeat).

Re: Pulse or Cycle NMN etc
A lot of us on the forum, myself included take two days off (pulsing) all supplements. I have the weekend off to make the routine easy.galway59 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 13, 2022 9:03 pm Waiting for my NMN, Resveratrol and TMG supplements to arrive, so still planning my approach.

Once every 3 months I take a full week off everything and in my view it gives the body a chance to totally reset... may or may not be beneficial but it is part of my protocol.

Well i am glad you answered NewAGE, because now i know what pulsing means! lol
I do the very same with my supplements. 2 days off per week. It stretches out your supply as well.

I take one day a week off with no supplements, but take an extra day off (so 2 days) for both Resveratrol and Pterostillbene.

Re: Pulse or Cycle NMN etc
I was wondering if some people would take both. I have considered it, and may do it.
I wonder if Pterostillbene is easier to store than Resveratrol.
Re: Pulse or Cycle NMN etc
I have been taking Pterostillbene for 18+ months with Resveratrol. I thought the combination at 790mg (so, 500mg Resveratrol capsule, 40mg Resveratrol in the ABS LIPO NMN and 250mg Pterostillbene) would be better than Resveratrol alone at similar amounts.NewLifeScience wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 7:39 amI was wondering if some people would take both. I love Blueberries so why not get higher doses of the molecule that helps make them so special
Re: Pulse or Cycle NMN etc
I guess as far as NMN goes, one can pulse it at a higher dose certain days (for me, like 500 mg) and then back to normal 250 mg and also 2 days with nothing. especially if I anticipate high impact days ahead.
Re: Pulse or Cycle NMN etc
What would be the purpose of pulsing NMN? Just asking as I think most people would want a sustained release.

I also look at pulsing at taking a day without NMN or other supplements to prevent homeostasis.
But there have ben days when I had a rough night and a rough day in head, when i up my dose for the day considerably.
