New research says "NR supplementation results in a significant increase in cancer prevalence and metastases of TNBC to the brain."

(TNBC = triple negative breast cancer)

Dr Brad covers this one well, click bait headlines that not even the researcher support!

I'd say he pretty much demolished it.

Aren't journal article reviewers supposed to actually *review* headlines and abstracts before publishing this stuff?

My general view on suspect articles is:
Cut the facts in half..
Then divide what’s left by four…
Then take away the first number you thought of…
And you might then have a small percentage of the truth ..
lol

There are several things about this study that should be noted: 1) the purpose of the study was a new technique to trace NR, not to see if NR caused cancer. 2) the high amount of NR used was equivalent to 2.9 grams of NR in a 90 kg human. 3) They injected breast cancer cells into the mouse hearts.

Given the above, I think we can assume that as long as you don't inject breast cancer cells into your heart or consume very large quantities of NR, you are probably safe. But realize that some cancers will indeed benefit from any circumstance or precursor that will enhance NAD+ levels. So consult a specialist if you have cancer on whether to continue any of your supplements.

Excellent advise, but I find it suspect that this type of article is floating around the web once again right at the same time that Biotech Int. is trying to get their B-NMN labeled as a Pharmaceutical product.

Seems the University of Missouri backtracked on its headline but the Council for Responsible Nutrition is charging they haven't done enough, saying “the original press release headline falsely linked NR with cancer and the updated version does the bare minimum to rectify the false claims.”
