Some people report trouble sleeping when taking NMN after 8-9pm at night. One possible reason is that the body tapers off producing NMN in the evening and begins producing more melatonin to induce sleep. Personally, I can't take NMN past 7pm or I have trouble falling asleep.

A breath of fresh air to see a practitioner embrace the benefits of an alternative to prescription medication.
Where I come from the majority of General Practitioners and Specialists would not entertain the thought of alternatives to what is deemed as “Safe” prescription drugs..

I started taking NR about 5 years ago after meeting David Sinclair and listening to him explain his research results. At that time, NMN was not commercially available (or if it was it was $1000+ per bottle) but switched over to NMN once AlivebyNature made the switch.

I would say that the reason I am an AlivebyNature customer is because of the extensive research that they link to on their website. I followed their lead and read the scientific literature and continue to read the literature. I am convinced by the science that has been confirmed by multiple researchers, and feel that NAD supplementation is on solid ground.

I would be wary of a doctor who combined NMN and acupuncture though as these are at the opposite extremes of scientific validity.

Thanks for the amazing responses! I have surely noticed an increase in endurance. I run 10-15 miles a week and it is very manageable. I could run more but I instead chose to lift weights half of the week. NMN for me is like an extra life in a video game.

I have just recently started taking NMN. (under a month). Can anyone who has been taking NMN for a while, tell me when you first started to notice the benefits?

I believe I've noticed some subtle changes but am curious what you think?

Thanks

Does anyone take NMN throughout the day and more specifically before bed? I am curious if people have a hard time sleeping if they do this.

Two years ago, my metabolism , cognitive levels , and general interest in Life was waning, at 77. I had given up sailing, and considered selling my aircraft after flying for 60 years. The last thing I wanted to do was give up my sweet tooth, Blue Bell ice cream, and exercise more than my afternoon
walks on the Golf course at sundown. Women had faded in my attention, liquor 34 years earlier, and a sense of apathy was settling over me. I had put
off shopping for a rocking chair. In short, I had reached the age of resignation, acceptance of my mortality, and was quietly making my Peace with my
Creator. In Mass one Sunday, my Pastor in his 60's mentioned his new found passion for the sport of Pickleball. Later at a shared dinner, he challenged me to play. The rest is history, but I'll tell it anyway. Initially, I found new physical activity tiring and new aches from unused muscles for years. But he
kept beating me, so I pressed on. Soon after, David and Monica of this site selected me out of over 5,000 applicants for a Clinical Trial of NMN , and I was chosen of 40 to represent the effects of NMN on my Pickleball play, from their supplied product. I had been taking it for a short while, under the recommended dosage of 250 mg /day, or two capsules. My Trial dosage was increased to 625 mg / day, with 375 taken before play, and 250 later before bed. I also logged my food intake on a Kedo diet, noting my loss of 32 lbs (to 198) over the 3 month trial. The results were startling!!
My VA bi-annual blood tests (32 results) all went to mid-low range, with triglycerides and bad cholesterol bottoming; blood pressure dropped 30 points on average through the day, and my cravings for sweets diminished considerably. My Pickleball play moved from intermediate levels 10 hours/week to Advanced level, putting away players 20 years younger, with equal skills. Now I add some NAD+ subliminally an hour after my morning NMN 250 mg subliminal's before play. It seems to boost my sustained stamina for the 3 hours of play, still 3 times a week. My nutritional patterns have evolved into more natural foods personally prepared; no frozen, canned, per-prepared foods with preservatives. I have a bowl of fruit and my NMN, NAD+ before play, 9-12 am, then brunch of 5 eggs, avocado or veggie, about 2pm, or a giant salad. A snack before 6pm, then fast 14 hours or more. It's easy to give up a routine of 3 meals a day at 7-12-7. Next year is 80. I've pushed through the degenerative disease killing years of 60 to 80, have regained my cognitive and energy levels of my 50's, and plan on blowin' through 100. If you're on the Gulf Coast anytime coming, for awhile, I'd like to challenge you to a game of Pickleball.. Thx, Ben Yglesias
