Could you tell me the results you would expect from berberine? I can then give you an idea of dosage.

hi Dr David
thanks for your reply.

I am just looking at anti-aging benefits.

I think i read that Dr. Sinclair is taking 1 gram of metformin daily. I am not sure if berberine would be the same quality - but my goal with this is improving daily health and longevity.

In the article below you will see the potent effects of berberine on glucose and lipid metabolism. In this study 0.5g was used with limited side effects. The primary being GI upset.

And as Fred mentioned, take your B12 as metformin/berberine seems to cause one to be deficient in B12

I used to take Metformin but read when taken with NMN it can oppose longevity effects.

I also hit the whiskey hard one night and felt sick for 2 days until I almost exploded with vomit at work. I blame the metformin.

Perhaps ill get back on it one day if it stacks up in the TAME trials.

Dr Sinclair rather theorises that NAD precursors and AMPK-activators works synergistically together by both activating sirtuins and by NAD being the "fuel" for sirtuins.

Where did you read about a supposed opposite action? I can't really see mechanistically when looking at those two molecules how they would oppose one another.
